Congregation Shaarey Tphiloh, known locally as the Noyes Street Shul, is Portland, Maine's oldest synagogue.  We were founded in 1904 on Newberry Street in Portland's Old Port and moved to our current location on Noyes Street in 1954.

We are an open, warm, caring community with members who are both old and young.  We are both learned and learning and are particularly mindful of the Jewish value of HaChanassat Orchim--the welcoming of strangers.

Candle-lighting times can be found below.  Friday evening services for the summer are at 6:15 p.m. Our Saturday morning services begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and are always followed by a delicious kiddush.  Please join us!
